REPLANTING REDEMPTION

Frequently asked questions

WHY REORGANIZE THE GROUPS?

Everything about replanting has centered around a re-evaluation of our goals for different parts of our ministry. We looked from the perspective of output. In other words, what are we accomplishing in the groups? Are people being known? Are groups healthy and sustainable? Are we raising up new leaders to continue to grow the number of groups? How are we serving our neighbors as a church?

With some of those questions in mind, we wanted to bring the lens of the vision of our church, that “we’re striving to be a community of people who are faithfully present to God, self, and others.” We care about our theology, doctrine and being Gospel-centered. We want to do that in the context of being in committed groups, organized to incorporate all of these things.

WHY OPEN THE FORMAT?

One of the ongoing concerns was the limited number of groups, often further limited by the number of available leaders. Being known in community and facilitating the same for others doesn’t require a theological degree. By simplifying the format, we’re hoping that more people feel comfortable leading and can be more creative with groups. Ultimately, the format of the group is the catalyst that brings us together around the idea of being faithfully present to God, self and others.

I LIKE MY GROUP. CAN MY GROUP KEEP GOING AS IT ALWAYS HAS?

In short, yes. If your group is committed and is already accomplishing the goals of being faithfully present, there is little reason to change. It would be good to have a group discussion around faithful presence and whether you’d like to meet weekly or follow the suggested rhythm described above. That would also be a good opportunity to discuss the area that your group will serve in during those windows.

HOW MANY GROUPS CAN I JOIN?

We haven’t set a limit on the number of groups you can join. We’d love for everyone in the church to be known in community. Whether you accomplish that in one group or multiple is up to your level of committment. If you’re up for it, by all means, go for it!

HOW DO I START A GROUP?

We started a form to help organize all of the information we’d need from you. We’ll work with you to clarify any further details and get you setup so people know how to find you.
