We believe Jesus...
Here at Redemption Church we follow after and boldly profess what the Lord Jesus, the New Testament Apostles, and the Early Church creeds formalize about the Person and Work of Christ. We believe that Jesus is the second person if the Trinity (Col.2:9) and as such, he is God (John 20:28). He has eternally existed (John 1:1), was actively involved in the creation of the universe (John 1:1-4; Heb. 1:1-4), who brought the redemption foretold by the prophets (1 Pet. 1:10), was born of the Virgin Mary (Matt. 1:18), lived a sinless life (2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 2:22; Heb. 4:15), died for the sins of his people (Matt. 1:21; 1 Cor. 15:1-3), was resurrected from the dead (Luke 24:6-7; 1 Cor. 15:1-3; 1 Pet. 1:3), ascended to the right hand of God (Acts 7:55-56; Rom. 8:34; Eph. 1:20; Col. 3:1), is the head of the Church (Col. 1:18) and will one day return to judge the living and the dead (2 Tim. 4:1).
At Redemption, we place a tremendous amount of emphasis on Enjoying Jesus because he is our God and has been so very good to us! He loves us unconditionally (Rom. 5:6-8), provides for our needs (Phil. 4:19), and has reconciled us to the Father and to one another (2 Cor. 5:16-21). Jesus is gentle (Matt. 11:29), compassionate (Mark 6:34), and the Truth (John 14:6). It is Jesus’ desire that our deepest joy be found in our relationship with him (John 15:11).
